Rodger Barnes

Creative Director of DesignWrx, Rodger Barnes is an experienced multi-disciplined designer with an eye for detail and a creative flair that focuses on making design work and adding value to each and every project within a client’s marketing mix.
Having studied at Glasgow School of Art, and developed very rounded experience with a handful of leading agencies and creative studios, Rodger started RBDW in Glasgows Spiers Wharf in 1991. Expanding the business to RBDW Creative Group with a move to Hamilton where the team grew to 14 strong. Following 10 years in that form, the decision was taken to gradually change the structure to better serve the client base with a core design team of 3 with key specialist outsourced associates, trading as DesignWrx.
Rodger defines creative & design direction and is key client liaison on a day-to-day basis.

David Barnes

Senior Designer
David studied ‘Multimedia Visualisation with Product & Graphic Design’ at Glasgow Caledonian University as well as ‘Graphic Design’ at The Metropolitan College in Glasgow. This set him up with all the requisite design credentials, founded on a keen eye for creativity and typography, with tireless abilities in problem-solving.
Since then he has gained twelve years studio experience working with Designwrx in their South Lanarkshire-based studio as well as freelancing with Offshoot Design and Studio Asura from their studios in Glasgow.
His skills have complemented and strengthened the images and communication work of blue-chip clients including UEFA, Tennent’s, Whole Foods Market and Thermo Fisher Scientific alongside diverse established companies and organisations across the UK including National Trust for Scotland, Scottish Opera, Scottish Power and Forth Wines.

Croy Thomson
Copywriter
Copywriter
Having studied at Glasgow School of Art, Croy graduated through various creative agencies to become Head of Copy at Ogilvy & Mather, Glasgow for more than a decade. Highly creative, Croys writing and editing skills aim to add value to the product, service or event being publicised. He believes that concise, relevant copy can help not only sell and promote the specific subject but also enhance the brand.
He also had the unusual record early in his career of having won Punch’s cartoon caption contest more than any other entrant!
